2nd Season ReCap

****The major surprise I got at the end of last season was at my birthday party, Indy500 Champion Will Power delivered my brand new WPK (Will Power Kart) in person to surprise me!!!!

I started my 2nd season out with a BANG, went down to AMP (Atlanta Motorsports Park) in Atlanta, GA and won 1st place in the Winter Series. Then GoPro Motorplex club season started in February I was in the MicroSwift class for 7-10 year olds. The average amount of karts was between 16-18 karts in the beginning of the season, first race I finished 9th place. Then I dislocated my elbow and had to be out the March and April race. I did special exercises to ensure that when I came back I would come back stronger......and boy did I!!

In May I tried doing a WKA race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, I really enjoyed that track and qualified on pole and finished 1st in PreFinal, while I didn't get the finish that I wanted it was a really good character building experience (and I got a Pole Award). The May club race I finished 6th, not bad for the first two races back....but then the June race I qualified 4th place, finished the PreFinal 3rd place, and fininshed the Final 3th place podium!!!

June's race was a little rough, qualified 3rd but had a bad start and finished Final in 9th place. July's race....all the hard work paid off.....PreFinal finished 2nd place and Final finished 3rd place podium!!! August's race finished PreFinal 2nd place and Final didn't have a good start and finished 4th place. September's double header was SUPER exciting, Round 8 qualified 2nd place/PreFinal finished 3rd place/Final finished 4th place....but then Round 9 qualified 2nd place/PreFinal finished 3rd place/Final finished 3rd place podium!!

Then November's double header was an Ultimate HEARTBREAKER!!!!! Both Round 10 & 11 I had the best starts I've ever had in the PreFinals.....and then in between turn 2 and 3 my chain popped off and couldn't finish either PreFinal race, both Finals I had to start in the back. Round 10 Final started 13th and made my way to finish 4th place, Round 11 Final started in 13th place and was only able to make it up to finish 7th place.

Finally December's race was difficult, because I had to qualify from 7th place....qualified 5th place on a cold wet track (not a lot of practice in the wet). PreFinal made it up to 3rd place, then Final was running strong and looking amazing.....I had made it up to 2nd place and spun. Finished the Season Championship race in 6th place.....and finished the Season Championship 5th in points (even with missing 2 races and a few rough racing due to chain issue or not as much experience on wet track).

All in all very proud of how the season went and REALLY looking forward to bigger and better results in my 3rd season!!!
